Rebecca Tingey

Rebecca Tingey lives in North Ogden with her husband where they have raised five children. She serves in her homeschool community, teaching classes about leadership, US Government, Constitutional studies, and directing Shakespeare plays. She loves spending time with family, exercising, singing, and reading classical literature. She is a recent graduate of Brigham Young University-Idaho with a degree in Marriage and Family Studies, with an emphasis in teaching. She has been trained as a LEMI mentor for several projects over the past thirteen years.  She is a level one and two Mission Driven Mom graduate, where she learned how to discover and live true principles.  She loves learner centered classrooms and strives to pull out the greatness in her students through discussion, simulations, and various activities.  Being a teacher is her favorite vocation in life and she is excited about working at Ascend. 

  • 9th grade Liber consists of American History from the early 1800’s to the early 1900’s with a heavy emphasis on the Constitution, events, and influential people. Mrs. Tingey is passionate about Shakespeare and mentors students through several plays each year as well as other book selections from the time period.

  • This course for 10th graders helps imbue an appreciation for and an understanding of different religions and cultures around the world with a hope that as students come to understand basic beliefs of other cultures a love and understanding of all of our brothers and sisters around the world will increase.
